Diplomats

Foreign diplomats and their immediate family members (spouse and children under 21 years) may apply for nonimmigrant visas for official or unofficial travel by sending a detailed email to HavanaConsularInfo@state.gov  to request an appointment with the following information:

  • Purpose of the trip
  • Scheduled travel date (if any)
  • Full name
  • Passport number
  • Birthdate
  • Position in the Embassy

On the day of the interview, the applicant should bring:

  • The DS-160 confirmation page of the Non-Immigrant visa application
  • A valid passport
  • A diplomatic note explaining the purpose of the trip
  • One passport-style photograph (50*50 mm)
  • The non-refundable interview fee of 160.00 USD/CUC

Travelers with diplomatic passports are exempted from the payment fee. However, in cases where a regular or service passport is submitted, all applicants are required to pay 160.00 USD/CUC for the interview fee.

The U.S Embassy wishes to remind Diplomatic Missions that the opportunity to appear for an interview before a consular officer under this procedure is a courtesy extended only to accredited foreign diplomats and their immediate family members.

Please note that diplomats on official travel to the United States with A and G visas are not required to appear before a consular officer and may send their documents through a mission courier, on any working day during the Consular Section's normal business hours.

Cubans with official passports who intend to apply for a nonimmigrant visa for unofficial travel must follow the regular procedure.
